Why We Do This
Why We Do This
Why do we do this? Why do we exist? Why do we get up nearly every single day, put on our boots, roll up our sleeves and go to work? The answer is complicated, but it is true: we make a difference in our clients’ lives and we make a difference in the communities we work in.
We care about the outcome of every project and we care about the needs of our clients. We care deeply about transparency, communication and honesty. It’s certainly not easy, but it matters, it makes a difference. We put our clients’ needs first, above anyone else. We care to go the extra mile, to make the extra phone call, to go to the extra meetings. It makes a difference. We care to spend a bit more time on the jobsites or a bit more time on a phone call. It makes a difference. We care how you spend your money and we treat it as if we had to spend it out of our own pockets. We want to be there for our clients from the very beginning, to help troubleshoot issues before they ever show up on a jobsite (don’t get me wrong, we don’t have a crystal ball… as much as we wish we did).
That’s why we do this, we know that our way makes a difference. We know that when all the paperwork has been pushed, the concrete has been poured and the steel has been set, our clients have to live with that product. And we hope they live happily with it for a very long time.

Who We Are
Who We Are
First and foremost, we’re a family owned business, owned and operated by Willie and Mike Bishop. We opened our doors for business on September 3rd, 2003 in Durham, NC. By 2007, we had outgrown our office space and made the move to our new home located in Hillsborough, NC. Father and son, Willie and Mike Bishop, started and developed the business together in the true entrepreneurial spirit, with nothing more than a truck, a few tools and a laptop.
Willie started his career in construction in 1978, working for Trout and Riggs. Through his career, his role grew from a laborer to eventually becoming the Vice President of a local general contracting company. In 2003, he parted ways to pursue his dream of owning and operating his own business.
Mike helped found W. L. Bishop Construction Company in 2003 and has been working as a Senior Project Manager since 2008. Mike has a degree in Management from UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Economics. Mike is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds a Real Estate Broker License in the state of North Carolina.
